Silicone Moulds and Resin Casting |
SYMSIL Products are liquid silicone elastomers which are hardened in room temperatures under influence of a liquid catalyst. Moulds made of these rubbers can be used for casting various components. Advantages of two-component silicone rubbers SYMSIL Silicone Rubbers offer a wide range of important advantages: - Easy processing with the use of a relatively non-expensive equipment.
- Convenient removal of castings due to anti-adhesiveness, flexibility and elasticity of silicone rubbers.
- Excellent and precise reproducibility of details.
- Low costs in comparison to metal machine moulds or stamping dies.
While moulding parts which have vertical walls, the “spreading by brushing” technique can be applied due to the possibility of using the combination of SYMSIL WW, SYMSIL K, SYMSIL M with thixotropic additives e.g. SYMSIL PC 12 or SYMSIL AD-1 component A plus B with addition of SYMSIL AD-1 component C. Fields of application Main applications of SYMSIL rubbers are as follows: - Decorations: castings, ceiling rosettes, statuettes, decorative candles, figurines
- Engineering: prototypes and components used for leakage and corrosivity checking
- Shoe making industry: e.g. production of artificial leather
- Metal casting: jewellery, decorative products
- Artistic products: sculptures, masks, special decorative products, statuettes, reliefs
- Prosthetics
Materials for reproduction Many synthetic and natural materials can be casted in moulds made of rubbers: - natural or synthetic wax
- resins: filled polyester resins, rigid or half – rigid polyurethane resins, epoxide resins
- elastomers: rubbers, polyurethanes
- hydraulic binding agents: concrete with filling materials, decorative plastering works
- metals of low melting temperature
- gypsum/plaster
